How we write and review our content

This step is just a conversation. We ask what you're trying to do (buy your first home, move up, refinance) and get a picture of your income, savings, and timeline.

Here's the part that's different from walking into a bank: a bank can only offer you the bank's own loans. We work with dozens of lenders, so from this first conversation we already know which of them are worth showing to your specific situation, instead of forcing your file through one lender's rules and hoping it fits.

Sources

General information, not advice for your specific situation. Program rules come from the agencies above and from each lender, and they change. A licensed loan officer confirms what applies to you.
